Great news for website owners, adwords and adsense earners! Recently Google has revamp their Adsense and Adwords Referral program. In the past, for every publisher that you introduce via your adsense or adwords referral link, you will receive $100 when they earned $100 in ad revenues.
As this can take a long time for publishers to figure out how to get the most out of AdSense and Adwords, a lot of referrers had be waiting a long time to get their commissions and most of the time will not getting anything at all. I know how it feels as I’ve never ever gotten any success being a Adsense or Adwords referral nor have I heard of anyone else being successful with it.
Google has known about this problem for some time now and decided to fix it. Under the new revamp referral system, you now will get $5 right away for every sign-up and an additional $250 when the publisher you refers earns $100! How cool is that?!
So get cracking and start putting those Adsense and Adwords referral links once again.
Below is the official post taken from Google:com
Last year we asked you for your feedback on referrals, and one of the issues we heard quite frequently was that it was too difficult to generate revenue with AdSense and AdWords referrals. To address this, we’ve just introduced a new pricing structure for both programs, which will be as follows:
AdSense Referrals:
AdWords Referrals:
These rules will also apply to users that you have already referred but who have not yet reached one of the new earning/spend thresholds. For example, if you referred an AdSense publisher who has currently earned $2.00, you will be paid $5.00 if that publisher reaches the $5.00 mark. But, if you have referred an AdSense publisher who has already earned $10.00, you will not be paid $5.00 retroactively for that referral reaching the $5.00 mark. However, should that publisher eventually reach the $100.00 earnings mark within 180 days, you will be paid $250.00.

This has got to be the saddest day for Adsense, Affiliate Marketers and webmaster. If you know what "Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool" is, then most likely you have heard the rumor by now that it’s now dead and gone.
Yes it’s true. Adsense, Affiliate Marketers and webmasters no longer be able to use this free Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool anymore cause it’s now toast. Sigh…

I’m not worried for myself as I’ve always use Brad Callen’s "KeywordElite" to help me. My only worry is that newbies like you would have to pay for keyword research now (wordtracker, nichebot and etc.) and that’s not really helping you.
Oh well, all good things always comes to an end. If ever you find any free "keyword research" tool/s, please do let me know.

Latest Update (1st February 2007)
FINALLY, after a few days of not being able to enter the "Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool", Yahoo has release the truth. They are NOT CLOSING the site. Pheeew…what a relief!
I did more research and found answers that Yahoo is having some technical difficulties with their Keyword Tool. I guess even a search engine giant like Yahoo are also vulnerable.
Loren Baker, the Editor of Search Engine Journal (which I got this source from) addressed his concerns on behalf of the internet community with Yahoo Search Marketing Team & John Slade, Sr. Director, Global Product Management.
Here was their response:
"First, I’d like to clarify that Yahoo! Search Marketing’s public keyword research tool (formerly known as the Overture’s Keyword Selector Tool- KST) continues to exist today and will continue to exist until we replace it with an improved product. Unfortunately, the responsiveness of this free tool is diminished due to the sheer volume of hits it receives each day, therefore browsers may time out and error pages may appear but it doesn’t mean that this tool has been removed."
Q: Are there any plans of offering a new YSM tool or API?
"Yahoo does have plans to offer a new public keyword research tool, which would be hosted through Yahoo! and available to our API partners. We plan on making this new tool available later this year."
Q: Why was this not announced beforehand (or was it?)?
"Since the public tool is still available, there isn’t anything to formally announce. However, when we launched our new advertising platform last quarter, it featured an improved keyword research tool (which we refer to as “protected” since it’s only accessible to advertisers who are logged into our system) to help advertisers discover more relevant and valuable keywords that fit their individual needs. We’ve been getting really positive feedback about this tool and we plan to continue to enhance this tool as we learn how advertisers interact with it."
Q: Is Yahoo hosting this tool somewhere else now?
"As I mentioned before, the public tool continues to be available but my advice to our advertisers is to use the protected keyword research tool."
Well, all is well and ends well.:) I just wish that Yahoo should have release an official statement when their Keyword Tool was having some technical difficulties. I mean, for such a large corporation, they should have kept us informed rather than just keep quite and kept everyone in the dark, don’t you think?
Anyway, let’s hope that the keyword Tool would make it’s return soon. Woohooo…"Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool" IS NOT DEAD!
Hmmm…I’ve been trying to find the "protected keyword research tool" that was mention in the article but i can’t seem to find it anywhere in Yahoo Marketing nor in Overture. If you do find it, please let us know. Thanks.
Anyway, if you want to use a free keyword tool now, good news!
Wordtracker has just launch it’s new free "keyword tool". What a coincidence! Hmmm, do you think they have anything to do with overture’s technical problems? LOL!
